Where can I learn about cake decorating and other culinary decorations tactics?

I am a really excellent cook and baker,so the “tasting” part of food is down. Now, I want to learn to enhance my cakes and other desserts as well as main meals in order to start a small business off it. Is there a place in Florida where you could learn without having to sign up to a year long culinary school?

Cakecentral.com Guaranteeed!!! I’ve learned EVERYTHING from that website and people even pay for my cakes!! Not a single class!

I took cake decorating courses that were offered by Wilton, through our local Sears pile. This was many years ago, but maybe you could call or find Wilton online and find out if they still offer these courses.

If you have a Michael’s craft pile nearby they offer cake decorating classes, sponsored by Wilton, I reckon. Otherwise, look up Wilton’s web site and see where they offer classes near you.

I agree you should go to Wilton.com and check out their classes. I live in a town of 60,000 and they had 3 classes in my area alone.

You can also learn alot by looking at cakes on the net and seeing what other people do. I also host a site about cakes, http://www.birthday-cake-central.com and give tips and things about decorating, recipes and such. You can also post photos of the cakes you make and leave comments on the cakes you see there.
You don’t need to make a perfect cake to post, remember you can eat you mistakes in baking!
